Freedom Foods

The "Freedom Food" label was set up by the RSPCA in 1994 with the main aim of improving animal welfare in farming.

The RSPCA established a set of species specific standards which farmers selling produce under the Freedom Foods label must adhere to.

The welfare standards for pigs runs to over 30 (A4) pages and covers issues from space allowances to slaughter methods.

Whilst we do not intend to summarize the details here, it is worth noting the following.

Freedom Foods means?

The freedom to turn around?
The freedom to run around?
Access to clean drinking water?
Acces to water to wallow in?
Access to light for at least 8 hours a day?
